Research and Development
We work in partnership with Research and Development (R&D) offices, who provide Research Governance for studies being undertaken in the West of England.
Each R&D office listed below cover primary care research and specifically studies involving NHS staff, patients, patient data, and premises in the three CCG areas.
The role of R&D in primary care is:
providing guidance to local researchers on what approvals are/are not required.
providing support/advice and guidance to local researchers with IRAS applications and on suitability for primary care.
advising and facilitating engagement with other R&D offices/partner organisations and sponsors.
supporting implementation of amendments.
facilitating and overseeing HR arrangements in primary care i.e Research Passport applications, issuing letters of access.
