Researchers

We work with a number of researchers from different universities and support them to open research in our region.

We can provide support to researchers in a number of ways, including:

Doorway to research support

  • Liaising directly with the relevant parts of the CRN to arrange appropriate support (if your study is eligible).

Expert advice

  • Advising how to make your study feasible for sites.

  • Supporting you to identify sites that are relevant for your study.

  • Liaising with NHS R&D teams on your behalf to minimise delays with approvals.

  • Connecting you with our GP champions, who can provide insights into conducting research in GP practices.

  • Providing access to patients and the public to give their perspective on your research.

Service Support Costs/SoECATs

  • Supporting you to apply for Service Support Costs for your study.

  • Connecting you with the Study Support Service for support with SoECATs and Excess Treatment Costs.

Research Delivery Support

  • Supporting the delivery of your study at sites. Our skilled team of research nurses and clinical research practitioners are able to assist with a wide range of study activities and have a wealth of experience in primary care and community research. See our Research Delivery page for more information on what we can assist with.

Recruiting to Time and Target (RTT)

  • Supporting both you and your selected sites to meet your study’s recruitment targets within your timescales. We’re happy to offer advice on your recruitment strategy, or suggest alternatives at any point during the study life-cycle.

Active performance monitoring

  • Helping you and your selected sites to performance manage the progress of studies. The data that we collect can help to identify and overcome recruitment barriers.

Training

  • Helping the research community gain the necessary skills which underpin research e.g. Good Clinical Practice training. For more information and upcoming dates, read Training and Events.
