E-Roster
Health Roster (aka as eRoster or EOL) is Employee scheduling software for e-rostering, used in the National Health Service produced by Allocate Software.
It provides a computerised method for efficiently managing when staff are required to work and to ensure wards and departments have the right staff in the right place at the right time. It is used by over 80% of electronically rostered NHS trusts to plan and roster their staff. It permits bank nurses to check shifts that are available on their phones or computers at home. Version 11, which can be used on a tablet, was released in 2020, responding to demands created by the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. It uses the SafeCare patient acuity model supplied by Imperial College Innovations Limited.
The eRoster system is finalised and locked on the second working day of each month. In order for appropriate approvals to take place all annual leave, bank holidays, sickness and absences should be recorded and updated in eRoster by 12 noon on the first working day of each month.
Annual leave is worked out in hours and is pro rata based on your WTE and length of service
Bank holidays are also in hours and are worked out on a pro rata basis and can vary each year
Annual leave and bank holidays need to be booked out in advance using Employee Online
If you do not work a standard pattern (e.g. Mon-Fri 7.5 hours per day) ensure the number of hours booked off in the system are correct according to the length of the day you are booking off (annual leave and bank holiday)
You are entitled to bank holiday hours in lieu even if the bank holiday falls on your non working day
If your non working day falls on a different day (e.g. Tuesday) and the bank holiday is a Monday you can either change your NWD to the bank holiday OR book the bank holiday off. Do not assume you have the bank holiday off without booking hours and taking your usual NWD as this will affect your pay
If you think your entitlement is incorrect, please contact your line manager
Please note that all absences need to be recorded in eRoster; annual leave, special leave, study leave and medical/dental appointments
If you are a line manager struggling with annual leave entitlements please speak to Helen Walcott for advice
