This year exams will largely return to normal. However, Ofqual (the people responsible for examinations) has stated that students will not be penalised for the education they missed during lockdown. This means that grades will look 'normal' but perhaps not return to 2019 levels.
If you are in Year 11, you should be thinking about your Post 16 choices and applying to Nicholas Chamberlaine VI Form or another destination. Nicholas Chamberlaine's VI Form website can be found by clicking on the link to 'VI Form Options event' tab below
You will need to contact the college or Sixth Form that you are interested in. They will all have different services available to you as it may not be possible to attend the site. You may want to take advantage of Virtual Open Events. In addition, you need to be aware of their different application dates and deadlines.
What if I don't achieve the grades I am hoping for?
GCSEs are level 2 qualifications, so ideally you should be looking to study level 3 qualifications. In the case of A levels, you may need to select different subjects. For vocational qualifications, then you can study level 2 qualifications and progress on to your original choices. However, you may need to spend an extra year in Sixth Form or college to do this.
I would like an Apprenticeship
It is likely that apprenticeships will be more difficult to obtain this year. Remember, you should ideally be looking for an Advanced level apprenticeship. All apprenticeships can be found on the government website:
