Week 1-3 Roller Skating...learning how to put skates on, learning how to stand up safely, learning how to "fall" safely, how to move slowly on mats, then off the mats with assistive devices, and then free around the outside circle if they are ready!
These are all subject to change based on music programs, fun activities, field trips, and scheduling.
Week 4---getting back on track after Spring Break---jogging, jump roping, games, review locomotor skills
*learn/practice changing directions while doing locomotor skills---repeating the directional words---forward, backwards, sideways, down, up, behind, in front of
On Wednesdays in April and May---we try to get out and do Wiffleball---if we can't go outside---we play inside
We start our Indy 500 Kids Fit Program Curriculum---leading up to our 500 Fun Run (date TBD)
Week 5---Kids Fit Program (these are done at the beginning of class as a warm up)
Work on hula hoop goals, jogging goals, building our momentum up for the final jogging test next week
7 stations working on total body fitness
Week 6---Kids Fit Program (these are done at the beginning of class as a warm up)
Final jogging test---working on reaching that TOP LEVEL (4:00)
Week 7---Kids Fit Program (these are done at the beginning of class as a warm up)
Wiffle Ball---working on rolling the ball, underhand throwing and catching, overhand throwing and catching, hitting off a tee, offense, defense, running bases
Johnson County Public Library summer reading kick off
Yoga--part of our lifelong learning unit
Week 9---Kids Fit Program (these are done at the beginning of class as a warm up)
Learn a fun hip hop/jazzy dance as a grade level
Zumba fitness day
