The Year 12 and 13 learners attended The Lion City Fair 2022 on Monday 19th September where they met with some of the top international universities in the world. There were over 112 prestigious universities in attendance who were able to answer our biggest questions about all things university and Life After Nexus. We came away with lots of information about course requirements, application processes and tuition fees. It was refreshing to once again be able to meet with the universities face-to-face and needless to say the bus journey home was noisy with all the excitement and planning. Keep an eye out for upcoming university events!
Our Year 12 learners had an early start to volunteer at the Willing Hearts kitchen, as part of their CAS and TOK day. After a couple of hours of preparing food and washing up, they all had a reenergising breakfast before they set off in their groups to challenge their creativity in the photography challenge. They explored the diverse culture, religion and street art in the local area. An added challenge was to choose and purchase an 'object', within a given budget. The learners discussed and established the objects' connections to culture and perspectives linking this to their Theory of Knowledge curriculum. With a little energy left, the teams ended the day competing in a range of sports experiences, badminton, table tennis and dodgeball.
A great day collaborating, communicating and making new friends!
