All Nursery to Year 6 learners will be taking part in an Inter-house Track and Field days soon. All learners have been further developing their skills of some track and field events in their Health and Physical Education lessons. This will be an opportunity for all learners to put those skills into practice and 'have a go'. The focus of the day will be on participation in a fun and encouraging environment and working together with learners in your house.

Please feel free to come along at the times mentioned below to support your child and join in the house spirit.

• Year 3 - 6: Tuesday 27 February at Choa Chu Kang Stadium, 9.30 - 1.30pm.
• Nursery - Kindergarten: Wednesday 28 February at Nexus International School, 9.20 - 10.20am.
• Year 1 - 2: Wednesday 28 February at Nexus International School, 1.40 - 3.20pm.

Unfortunately, for the Year 3 - 6 event, there is no facility for parents to travel on the coaches, but the Stadium is easily accessible by bus and MRT, with the Choa Chu Kang and Yew Tee MRT stations a couple of minutes walk away.

Please ensure your child/ward brings the following items to school on the day:

• A house t-shirt (available at Bibi & Baba). In exceptional circumstances, when you are unable to purchase the correct colour/size, a plain t-shirt of the correct colour may be used (your child’s house colour is available on the Parent Portal).
• Black/Navy HPE Shorts
• Hat
• Sun Block
• Plenty of lunch, additional healthy snacks and a water bottle. All those learners with pre-paid lunches will be given a packed lunch to take to the stadium that day. (Please note there will be nowhere at the stadium for learners to purchase food and drink).
• Learners may also choose to show their house spirit by wearing wigs, caps or face paint in their house colour

Learning Area Leader, Health and Physical Education

The week beginning Monday, 12 March we will be celebrating Book Week. There will be numerous activities to promote the love of reading. On Friday, 16 March learners are invited to dress as their favourite book character.

We ask learners to think beyond the usual Disney Princesses, Superheroes, Film Characters or Sports Stars. Characters from books in children's mother tongue are strongly encouraged.
