Preparations are well underway for Book Week 2022 with a theme this year of 'Imagined Worlds'. If you are looking for some holiday reading material please consider supporting the work of the many authors who will be visiting Nexus during the week:

• Emily Lim -IPPY Award-winning author of books including The Tiger Bunny

• Daryl Kho - Author of "Mist Bount" a stunning adventure about a young person fighting mythical characters to save her Grandpa

• AJ Low - Author and illustrator of the incredibly popular Sherlock Sam series

• Sim Ee Waun - Author of several books on the history of Singapore

Also, if you have a desire to get crafty over the holiday perhaps you could consider starting on your Book Week dress-up outfit. We are asking that all learners across the school come dressed as their favourite fictional character on the 29th April. From Hobbits to Highway Rat we can't wait to see what you come up with.

Join us for our Parent Workshop on Transitioning from Year 6 to 7 | PYP to MYP with our Year 6 teacher & our Year 7 teacher.

It can feel like a big change in moving up to secondary school, so join our workshop to make this transition an easy one for your child and get them excited about joining our secondary school.

PRIMARY ACTION & AGENCY

Learner Agency features heavily in our new Strategic Plan.

Our Agency:

Nexus learners are empowered and motivated to take action and to have their voice heard so that they can shape their future and make a difference in shaping their world.

During this workshop we will be sharing what learner agency means to us in primary and how it leads to authentic learner action.

UNDERSTANDING THE PROGRAMME OF INQUIRY

The Programme of Inquiry is the road map of how the units are organised across the entire Primary Years Programme from Nursery to Year 6.

It therefore provides an overview for each Unit of Inquiry for each year group, and how they fall under each Transdisciplinary Theme. This workshop will define each theme and how it is developed through the Units of Inquiry.

This workshop will also feature the Programme of Inquiry for the academic year 2022/23.
