As our learners become more independent they are creating their own stations and choosing different ways to complete challenges. A focus on hand-eye coordination and creativity has led to some very fun lessons.
We are looking forward to Sports Week 11th-13th April. More info after the break.
Note: Please ensure your child has a water bottle and appropriate footwear (trainers only - no crocs or sandals are allowed) on PHE days.
In Year 1 learners are focusing on their eye-everything coordination with activities like T-ball, shooting goals in basketball and football, bowling and badminton
Year 2s and 4s are progressing into more complex challenges like benchball, cannonball (2) and Captains ball (4). They are collaborating in small sided games and reflecting on their strengths within a team as well as contributing to a shared goal.

Learners from the intermediate group have continued to develop their front crawl skills using drills and focused swims. They have continued to refine their backstroke kick and explore arm action drills. Y5/6
Learners have been working on the breaststroke pull-out technique. Learners were encouraged to apply the technique after each turn from the wall. They have also learned to execute the pull out technique after each dive from the start block. They further develop their breaststroke technique and coordination skills by working on the timing of the stroke and body posture during the glide phase progressively. Learners continued to work and reflect on their front crawl and backstroke skills, and to apply the correct dives and turns technique. We have also introduced a new unit, invasion games in the pool this term for our learners.
