We're ready to roll! Nexus Sport trainings to begin this coming week from Monday 22 August

Just a friendly reminder that ACSIS Sport training sessions begin this coming week. Please see the information below if you missed the email during the week.

CCA, Sport, Swimming & Music Information - 17 August 2022

We are pleased to share that sign ups for CCAs, Music Ensembles, ACSIS Sports and Swim Trials are now open. You must refer to the Education Outside the Classroom booklet Season 1 on the Parent Zone for more details on dates and activities.

Please note:

· Parents of learners from Kindergarten - Year 4 should log on to the Activities Portal to choose their child’s activities. Yesterday you will have received a separate email explaining how to register for the new Activities Portal Schools’ Buddy.

· Learners from Year 5 - 13 must log on to the Activities Portal and sign themselves up. These learners should use the Google Single Sign On option while logged into their Nexus Google account.

Here is a Summary of the Programme details:

CCAs

Phase One

The Activities Portal is now open.

The Portal will close at 12 noon on Wednesday 24 August and activities will be randomly allocated.

Phase Two

The Portal will then reopen at 4pm on Friday 26 August, where additional choices can be made. Only activities with spaces will appear on the portal.

Phase Two will close at 12 noon on Monday 29 August.

CCAs will run from Monday 12 September until 18 November 2022 (8 Weeks)

MUSIC ENSEMBLES

Sign ups for Music Ensembles are open from today until Wednesday 24 August 2022.

Music Ensembles run in semesters.

ACSIS SPORT

Sign ups for ACSIS Sport are open from today until Friday 2 September 2022.

ACSIS Sport training for Season 1 will run from Monday 22 August until Friday 11 November 2022 (10 weeks)

IMPORTANT

· Once allocations have been made, activities can be viewed in the Activities Portal. You will NOT receive an email indicating this.

· Please note there is no advantage to selecting early in the process. The system randomly allocates places based on preference after the portal closes.

· Ensure you consider the commitments you have made to ACSIS Sport, Swimming or Music Ensembles when selecting your CCAs.

TRANSPORT

A reminder that you can take the later Activities Bus for an additional charge. To ensure a place on this service for the first week of CCAs, you must email Tong Tar, call 6261 5537 or register here.

It's Back! BISP Phuket Football 7s to Resume November 2022

It's finally back! The British International School, Phuket is pleased to invite Nexus to take part in our 19th Soccer 7's Tournament to be held at the school on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th November 2022.

NEXUS TEAMS (proposed)

• Under 11 Boys

• Under 13 Boys

• Under 15 Boys

• Under 19 Boys

• Under 13 or 15 Girls

This trip has been given in-principle approval and we will undertake team trials over the coming weeks of the Academic Year 2022-2023. Until then, keep improving your football skills and working hard on the pitch.

Switzerland Ski Trip is Returning to Nexus - Week 1 March/April Holiday 2023

Nexus is working in partnership with Les Elfes International, who offer residential camps in the Swiss Alps. For additional information about Les Elfes, please use the provided link to the Les Elfes website

The week-long trip in Verbier, Switzerland is available for learners from Year 7-10 (2022/2023 Academic Year) and will cater to all skiing/snowboarding abilities. The trip cost includes;

· 6 days of skiing/snowboarding (morning lessons and ski guiding in the afternoons)

· Après-ski activities from 4.30pm-6.30pm such as baking, sports, quizzes, village walks, shopping, bbq on the slopes

· Evening activities from 8.00pm-10.00pm such as access to the games room, sports centre, creative activities and team challenges

· Ski pass, rental of ski equipment (including helmet)

· Full board, including all meals and snacks in a 2-4 bedded room in a Swiss style chalet with ensuite bathroom

· Visit to the Olympic Museum, Lausanne

· Return flights from Singapore to Zurich/Geneva with Swiss Airlines (whichever is cheaper)

· Comprehensive insurance package

· All transfers
