PJ DRESS UP DAY
Hi everyone, I’m Orla Stark from 9B and I have Epilepsy.
Epilepsy is a neurological condition that causes abnormal electrical activity in your brain, causing seizures. I’ve been very lucky with my medication and haven’t had a seizure in a few years, however some people aren’t as lucky. I’m very passionate about spreading awareness of this disorder, since a lot of people struggle so badly to live normal lives. The past couple of years, I’ve hosted a day called 'PJ Day for Epilepsy', and all the money we have raised goes straight to the Epilepsy Care Group Singapore, a non-profit volunteer-based organization. The first time we did this in 2018, we raised over $1000 and I had the opportunity to speak at the 25th ECG anniversary gala dinner. It was such an honor and still to this day I remember every detail.
On the last day of this term, Wednesday, 15 June, it would be amazing to see as many of you wear your pjs to support this worthy charity, but don’t forget your $ 2 . This donation will really go a long way. I hope to see you on the last day of the school year in your pjs.
Have a great day!
