Physical and Health Education

Wow! What a year it’s been in PHE. The learners have shown excellent resilience in adapting to the various restrictions such as being socially distant, being in groups or two, online learning, wearing masks and so on.

The Year 7’s have made great progress in their MYP journey, and they have successfully completed a variety of assessments as part of the four criteria; knowing and understanding, planning for performance, applying and performing, reflecting and improving performance.

The Year 8’s loved taking part in new activities such as spikeball and underwater hockey, and they are looking forward to more new sports and activities next year. It was great to see them be open-minded and willing to take risks.

The Year 9’s proved to be very knowledgeable and caring when learning important life-saving skills in the pool, and also enjoyed games such as field hockey and netball.

The Year 10’s and 11’s relished the opportunity to be introduced to a diverse set of activities to keep them fit and healthy, and allow them to have some time away from devices.

We are looking forward to receiving the IGCSE Physical Education and DP Sports Exercise and Health Science results from the Year 11 and 13 cohorts, and we can't wait to hear what further education and careers the Year 13’s will pursue.

RUN-SWIM

Huge congratulations to all of the learners who showed excellent Nexus spirit when taking part in the 1.7KM run followed by the 275m swim. It was awesome to see learners not only cheering for friends from their Houses, but everyone else as well.

Thank you very much for all of the effort and enthusiasm we have seen this year, we hope you all have a well-deserved holiday with family and friends. We are sad to see some of the learners leave Nexus this year, and we wish them well for their future endeavours.
