Welcome to ELL

What is ELL?

ELL often refers to English Language Learners or English Language Learning. When students speak another home language, they may need ELL services in school in order to develop their academic English skills and be able to access the general classroom curriculum.

    • ELLs bring a variety of linguistic and cultural diversity to school and have different experiences with learning English.
    • Students are provided English language instruction within the context of grade-level academic content.
    • English language development, as well as the number of years in the ELL program, can vary among students.
