Communicate Family Notices

There are a variety of templates to be used by teachers to help parents understand documents that are going home and to help communicate information about school meetings, health, field trips, etc.  Staple the language reduced template to the original. 

Languages available include: English, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.


Interpretation and Translation

Parents of English learners are entitled to meaningful communication in a language they can understand through translated materials or a language interpreter. 

MA Curriculum Frameworks for Families

There are parent guides available that explain the MA learning standards for each grade level.  Families can read and understand what their children are expected to learn and know by the end of each grade.  They may be helpful resources to share and discuss with families during parent-teacher conferences.

Multicultural Children's Books

The I'm Your Neighbor site has many book suggestions for different cultures, communities, and immigrant experiences.  You can browse books by theme or community.

WIDA Can Do Descriptors

This helpful tool shows what your students can do with their language skills for each proficiency level, domain, and content area.
