Dance Auditions

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your interest in the dance portion of Freshman Cabaret 2023! The dance auditions will be about 45 minutes long. We will do a quick stretch, and then we will learn a short combos so we can see everyone dance in a few different styles. Please wear movable clothing (leggings/yoga pants, loose shirt) and dance shoes or sneakers, and if you would like, do some additional stretching beforehand. Remember to bring a water bottle and your audition packet, and have fun with the dances! 

Callbacks

If you are called back for dance, we either would like to see you dance again, or you expressed interest in being a featured dancer. At callbacks, we will learn a small section of the two featured dances that will be in the show. Everyone should be prepared to dance (proper attire, stretching, etc). Make sure to try your best!

Rehearsals

In terms of regular rehearsals, there are a few guidelines that I hope we can all follow!

• Be respectful of your castmates, directors, stage managers, faculty advisors, and the spaces we are in. We are all going through this process together, and it makes it so much smoother when everyone is respectful of each other.

• Make sure you are prepared for rehearsal. We only have so much time together, and it is super important that each week we can learn something new.

• Be present during rehearsal. This means no phones, and you are paying attention and ready to learn.
