Local Area Network

The local area networks (LAN for short) are the physical networks within each building. They provide connectivity for the wireless access points, desktop computers, printers and surveillance cameras. Each building has a custom designed network to fit their needs, driven mostly by the wireless network design. The LAN is comprised of copper unshielded twisted-pair network cable (CAT-6 or CAT-6a usually), fiber-optic cable for wiring closet connectivity and network switches.
