Networks

USD 373 networks connect all devices in the district to provide data communications to anywhere in the district and provides connectivity to the Internet.

Network Types

There are four types of networks used in the district, all critical for communications. They are:

  • Wireless Local Area Networks - WLAN's for short these networks provide wireless communications to all wireless devices like laptops, Chromebooks, iPads, etc.
  • Local Area Networks - LAN's for short these networks provide wired communications to all wired devices, including desktops, cameras, printers and wireless access points.
  • Wide Area Networks - WAN's for short these networks connect the buildings to share local resources like servers and services as well as share the connection to our Internet Service Provider.
  • Internet - Provided for by our Internet Service Provide we have only one connection to the Internet that is shared district-wide using the above networks.
