Cisco ISE Implementation

Cisco Identity Service Engine (known as ISE) is a system to provide an extra layer of security for networks while making networks more easily accessible. We are implementing Cisco ISE as the first step to improving our network security.

The following services are planned to be implemented with this project:

  • New Guest services - provides a quick and secure method to provide Internet-connect wifi to guests from outside the district.
  • New BYOD services - provides more secure BYOD connectivity with more flexibility on what is accessible and to whom.
  • District wifi - Provides a more secure way for district-own devices to connect to wifi.

Current Status

Guest services is currently deployed district-wide and is being piloted by four staff members. The remainder of the services are waiting for the Windows PKI Upgrade project to complete before piloting begins.
