The Parsons Paris Grievance Procedure is a reference for any student, faculty or staff who would like to report a grievance (such as harassment or discrimination of any kind) against a student, faculty or staff member.
Students who have concerns about an instructor or technical or administrative aspects of courses should contact the instructor first.
If the problem is not resolved, they should contact an academic advisor or the chair or director of the program offering the course. The program chair or director will confer with the instructor to gain an understanding of the concerns and try to resolve the problem for the student. Please note that if the grievance is EISJ (Equity, Inclusion and Social Justice) related, then the EISJ Council may be contacted.
GUIDELINES FOR ADDRESSING A GRIEVANCE
All community members are encouraged to first address any grievance directly with the person(s) involved. If further support is necessary for a full resolution, the complainant should follow the guidelines below:
COMPLAINANT lodges a complaint in writing or in person about SUBJECT (LEVEL 1). The necessary parties will be involved to try to resolve the issue.
If LEVEL 1 cannot resolve the issue then LEVEL 2 is consulted in writing or in person.
If LEVEL 2 cannot resolve the issue then LEVEL 3* is consulted in writing or in person.
*In most cases the issue is resolved by LEVEL 3 and the decision is final.
