In this third Kāinga (Village) you will learn about how to design for identified needs or opportunities by exploring the world of tiny homes and clever furniture design. Through this project you will develop your skills with Sketchup and learn how to communicate your design ideas through 2D and 3D sketching.
You will need to complete research on what exists already and seek feedback from your peers on your own designs. Using this information you will then be able to model, test and improve your design towards creating a final prototype.
Clicking on the images below will take you to assessment information and Kāinga Challanges.
Make sure you complete all of these and update your website with your finished project.
Space Saving Furniture is becoming increasingly popular as the Tiny Home Movement grows.
Living in tiny homes is proving popular because they are cheaper to build and maintain; have a much lower energy use; can be movable and so provide flexibility and allow you to have a much smaller carbon footprint which means you are being much more environmentally friendly.
