There are SO MANY more - which are important? Depends on the task and your skill level - click the button above for a more complete list.
If just starting with sheets, try this activity I created. It is a hands on getting started!
Don't let it intimidate you. Play in sheets. Try some of the ideas from the video below.
Want to copy something down or across? Type the data in one cell and then drag the box in the lower right corner across or down through the range to which you want to copy data - let go and it will fill in the data.
Need to number in rows across or down a column? Start typing 1 in the first cell, 2 in the second cell, 3 in the third. Highlight all three and drag that box in the lower right to the cell you wish to stop the number. Let go.
This works for many patterns to fill - not just consecutive numbering.
Copying something from one cell to another and not getting what you expect? There might be a formula there that you are copying. That's ok. Highlight the value you want to copy and paste. Control C to copy and then Control Shift V to paste - this will paste just the value.
Scrolling through data, but can't see the top row or side columns you need to reference? Freeze rows/columns. Highlight what you want to freeze. View: Freeze and select what you wish to freeze.
Need to hide a row or column? Right click the number for the row or letter for the column and choose "Hide". Need it back? Click the tiny arrow that shows in next to the number of the row or letter of the column that is next to the one that is hidden.
