Brent is best known as creator, star and executive producer of the television comedy Corner Gas, which reflects life in rural Saskatchewan town of "Dog River" (debuted 2004).
He has been the recipient of several major comedy awards:
"Best Male Standup" at the Canadian Comedy Awards then represented Canada on the international stage in Singapore and Australia (2001)
Canadian Comedy Awards for his work in Corner Gas: "Best Male Performance" (2004 and 2005) and "Best Writing in a Series" (2005)
Canadian Screenwriter's Award for "Best Comedy or Variety" (2005 and 2006)
Gemini Award for "Best Comedy Program or Series" and "Best Interactive" (2006)
Leo Awards for "Best Comedy or Variety" and "Best Performance or Host" (2005-2006)

He made his film debut in Gwyneth Paltrow's movie, "Duets" (2000).
Although Brent is best known for his pursuits in the area of stand up comedy and television, he began his career by co-authoring a comic book called "Existing Earth", for which he also created the graphics.
