2024-2025 Regents Next Generation Learning Standards Courses and Examinations:
NYS has implemented new Next Generation Learning Standards (NGLS) for Geometry, Earth & Space Sciences and Life Science: Biology Courses and Examinations for this year (2024-2025). If you have not done so already, we strongly recommend districts take the following steps now to report data correctly this year and be ready for new reporting requirements.
Create new courses (with unique local course codes) to be used in the 24-25 school year and future years.
Algebra I NGLS (02050) (with “Regents Algebra I” State Assessment)
Geometry NGLS (Mindex will add new state code and assessment in the 24-25 school year)
Earth & Space Sciences (Mindex will add new state code and assessment in the 24-25 school year)
Life Science: Biology (Mindex will add new state code and assessment in the 24-25 school year)
Students will need to be dropped from their 'old' course and added to the new course you have created. If you need assistance with this, please reach out to our team at 518-862-5454 option 2 or schooltool@neric.org
Thank you for attending our 2024 User Group!
It's always wonderful to see so many of you in person for our User Group! Use the link below to view the documentation Mindex shared:

Class Size Reporting:
NYS requires class size be reported by all districts for Elementary levels. We recommend creating a course for each grade level which should be tied to the appropriate State Course code. DO NOT create a homeroom. If you need assistance setting up the class size courses, please reach out to ensure proper reporting for the 24-25 school year!

NEW SchoolTool New Grade Book and Grading Screen Information
NERIC now recommends districts begin phasing in all the New Feature Access options, including the new Grade Book (found under Maintenance > District > District Options > New Feature Access).
There are eight (8) feature flag choices to provide teachers access to the NEW grading screens. This can only be turned on at the District Level. We recommend you make all the access options the same - 'Always Use NEW'.
Legacy Grade Book and Grading areas are all being phased out of SchoolTool. Update your New Feature Access sooner rather than later so your teachers have a chance to use and provide feedback on the New Grading areas. If you have any feedback to provide, please let us know!
See the New Grade Book FAQ page for all the latest information about this important update.
