Honors Classes

Honors courses in English and Math are available for 7th and 8th grade students throughout Northeast BOCES.  These courses were developed using a grant from the Colorado Department of Education in 2022-2023.  They were first made available to schools via the Colorado Digital Learning Solutions platform in the 2023-2024 school year.  

While students are online for these courses, they are able to stay on schedule and can be in the same classroom as their peers who are taking traditional English and Math classes.  This means they do not have to jump logistical hoops at the school with their schedule.  However, they are able to access higher level courses.  They do have a teacher available online asynchronously, and are able to receive assistance easily.

Students who complete 8th grade Honors English have completed all standards for 9th grade English in Colorado and are ready to enroll in 10th grade English upon entry to High School.  Students who complete 8th grade Honors Math have completed all standards for Algebra I and are ready to enroll in either Geometry or Algebra II upon entry to High School.
