Once installed and configured, the iBIM connector opens on its default homepage.
The "Home" tab in the top left corner of the window displays a drop-down list showing the main functionalities of the iBIM Connector :
iConnect, Interfaces, iPost and My News
"My news" displays an overview of the current actions and/or responsibilities belonging to the logged in user.
The functionalities displayed in the ribbon (upper part of the screen) vary depending on the module and tabs in which you navigate . The available tabs are: "Home", "View", "Data", "Create", "As Required" and "As Designed".
The left side displays an overview screen while the right side is a detail screen from the Relatics workspace. By clicking on an element in the overview on the left side, the connector shows in the detail screen the related data stored in Relatics.
All the functionalities that are found in the top ribbon can also be found in the right click menu as displayed below:
To explain the top ribbon step by step it is necessary to go in more detail:
Use the "Home"-tab to swith between the different functionalities
"iConnect";
"Interfaces";
"iPost";
"My News";
"Info / About".
Use the "View" options functionalities
"Select All Connected" to select in the CAD software all the elements connected to Relatics;
"Select All Unconnected" to select in the CAD software all the elements that are not connected to Relatics;
"UnSelect All" to unselect all the instances;
"Expand All Connected" to expand all the connected instances in the tree view;
"Expand Tree" to expand all instances in the tree view;
"Collapse Tree" to collapse all instances in the tree view.
Use the "Data"-tab functionalities:
"Reload" to reload (and synchronise) the data related to existing connections;
"Update Parameters in Revit" to update the Revit parameters with the Relatics parameters;
"Send Parameters to Relatics" to send all the selected parameters from Revit to Relatics;
"Change All Codes/Names" to update the codes and names in Revit with the codes and names in Relatics;
"Material Take-Off" to retrieve all the used materials in Revit including quantities in corresponding units;
"Connect by Code" to connect elements from Revit and Relatics using the codes only;
"Import" to import data in iBCxml file format (which has been exported in an earlier phase);
"Export" to export data to an iBCxml file- (iBIM Connector xml-file) or an csv file format (which can be opened in Microsoft Excel or Google Spreadsheet);
"Analyze" to analyse the data in Revit and compare it with the data in Relatics. This way the connector will show you whether the designed object satisfies the requirements in Relatics.
Use the "Create"-tab functionalities
"Create iPost" to place comments directly in the BIM model and synchronise the comments with Relatics;
"Create Floorplans" to directly create corresponding floor plans to visualise your data;
"Create Requirements Schedule" to create a schedule summing up all the relevant requirements on a drawing;
"Create Hyperlinks" to put hyperlinks to the Relatics data inside the properties of a Revit element.
Use the "As Required"-tab functionalities
"Connect" to create as designed elements as instances of as required elements;
"Expand connected child elements" to expand the as designed instances in the hybrid tree;
"Expand Branch" to expand the branch;
"Collapse Branch" to collapse the branch;
"Change Child Codes/Names" to change the codes/names of as designed elements.
Use the "As Designed"-tab functionalities within Revit
"Connect" to connect an as designed instance from Relatics to the Revit element;
"Disconnect" to disconnect an as designed instance in Revit (the instance stays in Relatics);
"Select" to select the element in Revit and hit the button to show the element in the tree view;
"Change Codes/Names" to change the codes/names of an as designed element;
"Create Screenshot" to create a screenshot of the connected Revit element.

"Connect" to connect an as designed instance from Relatics to the Revit element;
"Disconnect" to disconnect an as designed instance in Revit (the instance stays in Relatics);
"Select" to select the element in Revit and hit the button to show the element in the tree view;
"Zoom To" to zoom to the selected element in Revit;
"Change Codes/Names" to change the codes/names of an as designed element.
Use the "View" options functionalities
"Select All Connected" to select all the by the connector connected instances;
"Unselect All" to unselect all the instances;
"Expand All Connected" to expand all the connected instances in the tree view;
"Expand Tree" to expand all instances in the tree view;
"Collapse Tree" to collapse all instances in the tree view;
