K-1 Science
Hello Families!
We hope everyone is safe and healthy during these trying times. We are sad to be away from you all and look forward to being back together again soon.
Remember science is all around us! not just in classroom. Science is cooking, eating, building and much more!
Below, you will find resources to support your little scientists. These resources can be used at any time and can help your scholar continue to grow when not at school.
We hope to communicate with you as much as possible as we continue to create tools for remote learning.
ALL ASSIGNMENTS will be on SEESAW
Daily Assignments and Accountability
Scholars will have daily assignments to complete. These assignments can be found in the science section of the remote learning website or in you classes seesaw. Moving forward all assignments should be submitted through seesaw.
The Scientific Method
We are moving forward into the scientific method unit of the scope and sequence. The scientific method is the step by step method scientists use to explore the world around them. There are 6 steps in the scientific method.
Step 1: Observe and ask a question
(scholars will observe the video linked or what they see outside)
Step 2: Research the problem or question
(scholars will watch the video linked and write/draw one fact they learned)
Step 3: Make a hypothesis
(scholars will type/draw their hypothesis on the form/science journals)
Step 4: Do the experiment
Day 1: scholars will gather the materials
Day 2: Scholars will write/state the procedure
Day:3 Do the experiment!
Step 5: Make a conclusion
(scholars will collect data: graph or picture)
Step 6: Share what you learned.
(Show off your journal!)
During this time away from each other, scholars will conduct an experiment using the scientific method. Once we return back together, we will share our favorite experiment and our science journals.
