Kiss 108/iHeart Radio’s Jingle Ball

Kiss 108/iHeart Radio’s annual holiday concert in Boston took place on December 10, at TD Garden. A total of 8 artists performed, not including 2 guest performers from Boston. However, they did not release the order of the performances until 6 when the concert was said to begin. Every artist performed 4 songs. Here’s a ranking of those 8 artists.

The first artist to perform was K-pop group (G)-idle. For the first artists, they certainly brought energy. They were actually amazing. They were interacting with the audience and their voices were impeccable. Out of all the artists, I’d place them at #3.

David Kushner performed next. (I didn’t get any photos or videos). I was only really familiar with the one song, but his voice did sound good. It was obvious he was nervous being in front of the crowd, but the lyrics on the screen helped everyone sing along. We (my brother, who was with me, and I) didn’t know any other song, so I’d put him at #7.

The second (and final) K-pop group was NCT Dream. Like (G)-idle, they were extremely energetic, and the dancing was perfectly in time with each other. I’d place them at #4.

I'm going to be honest. I was not at all impressed by Melanie Martinez. She didn’t perform any song that I knew, and she wore these prosthetics that were so weird it made it hard to watch her perform. I couldn’t really hear her voice, either. It was a last-place #8 performance.

Ok—oh boy. Flo Rida was absolutely amazing. He played all his hits (My House, Low), went up and down the aisles on the floor (where we were), and interacted with the audience. It was funny how the younger kids had no idea who he was when everyone else was getting low. (Un)Surprisingly, he gets #1.

One Republic… do they have any songs other than I Ain’t Worried, I Lived, and Counting Stars? The answer is no. The lead singer just did a cover of Halo (Beyonce) which he wrote. Everyone was singing to the last two songs though. I’d put them at #6 because I really didn’t know why Halo was the choice.

Sabrina Carpenter sounded good, looked good, and everyone loved her. She did a Nonsense holiday remix which was just amazing, and of course, All Because I Liked a Boy was amazing.  I’d place her at #2 solely because of her voice.

DO NOT get mad at me—I swear I have a reason. I was completely underwhelmed. Normally, I think SZA would’ve been amazing. Except her mic wasn’t working and I could barely hear her. Everyone was excited and sang along anyway—but it was still underwhelming. SZA comes in at #5.
