The Natick Nest is Natick High School's official student-run school newspaper. We are a tight-knit community of students with a diverse range of interests who are all passionate about writing and sharing their journalistic and artistic work. We meet every Tuesday in room 245 after school with our faculty advisor, Mr. Guastella, and release an issue every month.
Though we mainly publish articles, we also publish poetry, columns, short stories, comics, word games, and whatever else students create! You can find our print editions at the NHS library, in room 245 at NHS, and at Ten Trees Books, or you can pick up a copy in the main lobby on select dates, which will be announced on our Instagram.
Keep reading to find out more about our board members, talented journalists, and our mission!
The Natick Nest is run by a leadership team that plans and runs weekly meetings, puts together print and digital issues, and makes administrative decisions about the club.
Max Cogliano
| Editor-In-Chief
Hi! My name is Max (he/him). I am a senior at Natick High, and I am the Editor-in-Chief for the Natick Nest. I love writing about politics, and while I mostly write for the local/national news column, I also dabble in opinion and have an unhealthy obsession with movies and music. Outside of the Nest, I'm also a member of Speech & Debate, the Model UN Board, and Vice President of the Politics Club. I also fence, saber, and, when time allows, I love to draw. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions at macogliano@students.natickps.org.
Angela Mukigi

Hey, my name is Angela (she/her) and I am a junior. I most enjoy writing opinion pieces, advice articles, and critiques. I'm also the Vice President of the Equity Co-Op board. Outside of school I play the violin and read books. I also play indoor and beach volleyball. Other things I love are hanging out with friends and listening to music. You're welcome to contact me at anmukigi@students.natickps.org.
Saumya Ahuja

Hi! I’m Saumya (she/her) and a junior at Natick High. I’m the Natick Nest's Media & Communications Manager! I most enjoy writing entertainment or opinion pieces, especially anything book or music related. I’m also part of the Robotics Team, Book Club, and Speech & Debate at NHS. When I’m not in school or navigating a huge pile of homework, you can find me reading a copious amount of books, listening to music, binging a great show, baking, or making excuses not to practice piano. Reach out to me at any time or about anything at saahuja@students.natickps.org.
Aanya Sikka
| Head of Graphic Design & Illustration
Hi! I'm Aanya (she/they), and this is my third year with the Nest. I'm the Nest's Head of Graphic Design & Illustration and a junior. In addition to the Nest, I'm also part of Mock Trial and NHS' chapter of the National English Honors Society. I love any and all things music, reading, puzzles, and gardening, and I also enjoy working on random craft projects. Feel free to email me about anything at aasikka@students.natickps.org.

Ashley Weiss
| Class of 2028
Hi! I'm Ashley, (she/her) and I'm a junior at NHS. This is my first year with the Nest and I like to write about current events, music, and guides. If I'm not actively panicking about the next test around the corner or the large pile of homework and voice lessons I procrastinate, I love to read, draw, hang out with my sister, and experiment with outfits, makeup, and jewlery. I'm also part of the theatre department at NHS and have done three plays there so far. If you want to vent, chat about the latest SNL sketch, have acting questions, or just want to talk, email me at asweiss@students.natickps.org.
Ayla Friedman
| Class of 2028
Hey there! I'm Ayla and an 11th grader here at Natick High! I enjoy writing poetry and also dabble in interviews and entertainment. I have a diverse range of interests; I play soccer, field hockey and I'm part of the film/media club! When I'm not writing poetry and stories or reading an alarming amount of books and articles, you can almost certainly find me blabbering and yapping about Greek Mythology, philosophy, astrology, tarot, the supernatural, any TV show or movie under the sun (some of my favorites being Doctor Who, Supernatural, Brooklyn 99, The Good Place, Boy Meets World, Marvel/MCU, Dead Poets Society... etc.) or listening to music. Want to share some poetry, debate about the use of pants, or just chat? Please reach out to me at ayfriedman@students.natickps.org!
