CURRENT CLINIC HAPPENINGS:
SBIRT Screenings for 8th Grade Students begin February 2026
All Massachusetts public schools must include a verbal substance use preventive screening as part of their yearly mandated universal screening programs. Since 2015, the Natick Public schools have screened students in grades 8 & 10 using the Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) protocol. Students answer questions followed by a private one-on-one conversation with a nurse or counselor. The purpose of this effort is to prevent, or at least delay, alcohol, marijuana, vaping or other drug use. The SBIRT program reinforces healthy decisions and addresses concerns about substance use to improve health, safety and success in school. Please see Health Screenings-SBIRT for more information on this screening.
If you do not want your child to be screened, please click here to complete the opt-out form. Please email the school nurses at kennedynurses@natickps.org with any questions or concerns.
