This week, the children focused on recognising their own names. They carefully selected their name from a range of choices before practising tracing over the letters. This supported their letter recognition, pencil control and understanding that their name has meaning and is unique to them. The children showed great concentration and were very proud of their efforts!
This week, we have been busy learning all about our classroom routines and what helps our day run smoothly. The children have been practising important skills such as lining up, washing their hands, tidying away their toys and resources, and moving safely around the classroom. We have also been learning how to take care of our classroom, listen to our friends and teachers, and become more confident and independent throughout the day.
This week, the children explored a range of stories about the different emotions we may experience during our first few weeks at school. Through these books, they began to recognise and talk about feelings such as excitement, happiness, worry and sadness. The stories reassured the children that all emotions are valid and helped them understand that others may feel the same way too.
This week, we were very excited to meet our new music teacher! The children had lots of fun getting to know Mr Daniel and exploring the wonderful world of music together. We practised singing different scales, experimented with our voices and even had the opportunity to listen to and play the guitar.
It was lovely to see the children joining in with such enthusiasm, building their confidence and discovering just how much fun music can be. We are looking forward to all the exciting musical adventures we have planned for this year!
We’re excited to share a special opportunity for our young athletes! The TTF Aquathlon Kids Race is taking place on Saturday, 26 September at Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain, with swim and run distances for children aged 4–15 years.
