This year was full of ups and downs, but more of learning, responsibility and growth. In this year I have learnt to adapt to the changes of many things, especially in my studying. It was hard not being able to teach in a classroom and be around the learners due to COVID. But the support of my lecturers, peers and family made it much more manageable and worth moving forward.
Personally with the help of online lectures, it made my learning process much more doable and effective. I felt as if this year was much more theory based than practical, but I have learnt just as much which I am very thankful for. I can surely say that I have learnt and developed new skills, strategies, methodologies and approaches for teaching (especially for grade 2).
When observing the grade twos in my final year for a couple of weeks, I clearly noticed the change in teaching and learning compared to grade 1. The teachers put a lot of effort in their learners academic success. My appreciation for reading and helping learners to read grew immensely. I loved seeing them grow and reach new levels of skill and ability in all areas.
I have still much to learn and will keep on expanding my knowledge and practice where possible. I am looking forward to next year, to learn, expand and explore new heights with my academics but MOST importantly my teaching.
