Registration and scheduling for current students for the 2026-27 School Year is underway!
Pre-Registration: Core Classes and Select Enrichment/Elective Courses
We have been reviewing student performance from the First Semester and begun conducting Pre-Registration, assigning recommended courses for Core Academics and selected electives. These Pre-Registered recommendations are based on several years of student outcomes and teacher insights. They are strong recommendations, but are not set in stone. Students and families will have the opportunity to discuss with teachers and choose a different path with different course selections in their Course Request Finalization Packets.
While we enter these pre-registered core classes, students will enter their Enrichment/Elective Course Requests directly into Skyward.
Course Request Finalization Packets
Once all Pre-Registrations and Enrichment/Elective selections are completed and processed, students will receive a Course Request Finalization Packet. This packet includes the following:
A personalized Course Request form identifying their Pre-Registered courses and the Enrichment/Elective selections they entered into Skyward. This form will have space to request changes.
Paperwork for requesting Modified Schedules. Modified Schedules are any in which a student is requesting fewer than 7 class on-campus, which may be for Dual Enrollment or Virtual at Home.
1-on-1s with School Counselors
Throughout February, March, and April, our school counselors will holding 1-on-1 meetings with each of their 9th, 10th, 11th grade students.
During these meetings, students must bring their completed Course Request Finalization Packets, as they will review the following with their school counselors:
Semester 1 Outcomes (Grades, Assessments, Exams, etc.)
Pre-Registration for Core Classes
Enrichment/Elective Selections made by the student in Skyward
Requests for Modified Schedules Note: 3 on-campus classes are required to qualify for a student parking spot.
Course Requests in be updated in Skyward accordingly. Students are not guaranteed these courses. Please review Scheduling Process and Practices and General Scheduling Practices to learn more about how these requests are used to create the Lake Brantley High School 2026-27 Master Schedule.
Discuss specific academic and personal goals as a family.
Begin with the end in mind: What do you want May 2027 to look like?
What do you plan to have accomplished academically?
What do you plan on having participated in throughout the year, both on campus (arts, athletics, service) and off (employment, family commitments, religious or personal wellness activities)?
Review your Graduation Requirements to know exactly what is expected of you by the State of Florida and Seminole County Public Schools
Review this Curriculum Guide and see what courses will contribute to meeting those goals for May 2027.
Agree on some possible pathways that will lead to those goals:
Core Academic Courses that challenge you, but are manageable and will contribute to meeting your Graduation Requirements
Programs of Emphasis that provide unique opportunities for Lake Brantley High School students:
Special Support Programs, including Exceptional Student Education and English for Speakers of Other Languages
College Preparation Opportunities, including Pre-Advanced Placement, Advanced Placement Capstone Diploma, and Dual Enrollment
Elective courses and programs that will prepare you for life after high school
Submit Enrichment/Elective Course Requests through Skyward by Sunday, February 8th
Review the personalized Course Request Finalization Packet and complete it ahead of your 1-on-1 with your School Counselor.
Because changing from a pre-registered, recommended core class requires parent signature, this packet must be completed, signed, and brought with the student to their School Counselor 1-on-1.
Part of this packet includes paperwork to request a Modified Schedule of fewer than 7 on-campus classes. Note: 3 on-campus classes are required to qualify for a student parking spot.
