Between now and February 10th, current LBHS students can make their initial selections for the Enrichment/Elective classes for 2026-27. These will be combined with their Pre-Registered Courses and included in their Course Request Finalization Packet. Those packets will go out by Friday, February 13th. You will bring your packet to your 1-on-1 meeting with your school counselors, which will be scheduled between February 18th and April 24th. Your school counselor will e-mail you the date and time.
For more details on the entire scheduling process, check out Scheduling Process and Practices and the Scheduling Timeline.
For now, students are only making their initial selection of 3 Enrichment/Elective classes, as well as 3 Alternates. You will do this directly in Skyward Student Access - it is not available through Skyward Family Access. Follow these Directions for Course Request Entry. But please be sure to read the section titled "BEFORE YOU START MAKING COURSE REQUESTS" at the bottom of this page.
This Curriculum Guide has course descriptions and details about all of the Enrichment/Elective classes we are currently planning on offering in 2026-27:
Here is also a Quick Guide to Enrichment/Elective Course Codes:
Note: In these documents, all courses are 1 credit, year-long unless highlighted in a color:
Blue - semester-long, standalone
Green or Red - semester-long, taken with another specific course in the opposite semester
As returning Patriots, it is our expectation that you - the student - takes the lead on your academic planning. As such, questions and inquiries about scheduling and academic advising should be coming from the student. Parents and families are encouraged to be included in e-mail correspondences, but students should be the ones initiating those contacts. Additionally, the 1-on-1 meetings we will be scheduling are not open-invitation. Students will bring their Course Request Finalization Form with them, which must have a parent signature, indicating that it has been discussed as a family.
Remember that you are only entering course requests for next year's classes. We cannot guarantee placement due to numerous factors, including, but not limited to, changes to state course approvals, instructional staffing changes, student interest, and conflicting periods for limited enrollment classes.
You will have 2 opportunities to change these requests - once during your 1-on-1 with your school counselor and again in May as we are finalizing the Master Schedule.
You may tentatively request both Modified Schedules (for Dual Enrollment or some other purpose off campus for a period) and Virtual at Home (to take a virtual class without coming into school for a period). There are course codes for specific periods and semesters of each.
Continuing into next year, students must take at least 3 classes on-campus to qualify for the privilege of a parking spot.
NEW THIS YEAR, students who have not earned their Communications and Mathematics Assessment requirements (proficiency on FAST English 10 and the Algebra 1 EOC or a qualifying concordant score) may not have a Modified Schedule for 1st or 2nd Period off-campus.
