Our Mission

What skills do our students need to succeed in their careers and life? We want our students to learn much more than language. We want them to be proficient in 21st century skills. Pablo L. Martinez Torres is the World Languages Curriculum and Foreign Exchange Specialist for Polk County Public Schools. He has served as a History, Spanish, ESOL, and Business Administration teacher in Puerto Rico and Florida. He has been the World Languages CS for Polk County Schools since 2014, where Pablo has directed the design, development and implementation of the Spanish Curriculum Maps, textbook adoption process, proficiency-based methodologies, and other district initiatives. He is the former president of the Florida Foreign Language Managers of Education (FFLAME) and the current editor of the Florida Foreign Language Association (FFLA) E-Magazine. In 2017, he was the recipient of the WL State Supervisor of the Year Award by FFLAME. He holds a bachelor in Secondary Education-History from the University of PR-Rio Piedras, a Master in International Politics from Troy State University, and is a doctoral candidate of the Florida Southern College’s Educational Leadership program. He occasionally collaborates with school districts as a consultant and with local newspapers and textbook companies as a freelance writer and reviewer.
