Please watch the following two instructional videos to deepen your understanding of the 5E Instructional Model. It is based on the constructivist theory where learning is student-centered with the teacher as the facilitator. Lecturing is not a part of this process; it is based on inquiry where students are constructing their own understanding based on their explanations of the phenomena they are learning about.

The 5E Instructional Module (w/Quiz)
Schoology is our Learning Management System (LMS) in which all of the curriculum and resources for all content areas are housed. It is very user friendly and easy to maneuver. You can access Schoology from the school board website through the Hub via ClassLink.
Our district provides elementary science lessons for Kindergarten through 5th Grade. These are hands-on lessons to be used for science instruction in the classroom. Watch the following video on where to find the lessons and supporting resources.

Another resource available to our K-5 science teachers is STEMscopes. It is an additional option for 5E instructional lessons and is an application within ClassLink, the same as Schoology.
Click on a grade level and a lesson (called Scopes in this product) and explore the various links that are associated with the 5E instructional Model. It is set up the same for every scope. This resource can supplement the lessons provided in Schoology.
STEMscopes workbooks are provided for K-5 science classrooms as a supplemental resource.
