SPRING 2022
EDGR 625 Teaching & Instruction in Technical Application
This is a second level course that built off of our our first technology and instruction experience in 2020. With this course, we had the opportunity to intensify our understanding of technology integration and using various forms to keep up with the 21st-century schooling systems and growing community outreach.
For this class, I decided to add my summative. This is something I continue to use in my practice and have given access to all students. This was a website I created to help with distance learning as well as giving more choice in our ELA classroom. This website consists of free websites that varies interests, such as reading, writing, educational games, diversity, podcasts, and more. I plan on continuously updating this website so that students will always have access to free online learning.
SUMMER 2020
EDGR 620 Dimensions of Technology & Instruction
Within this course, we were given the opportunity to dive in to how teaching can be both art and science. Diving into how we can use technology to better our practice and increase student engagement in a meaningful and intention way, our focus was on creating relevant learning experiences that brought joy back to teaching and learning. We were given ample opportunity to explore and discover new technology means to bring into our classrooms as well as create effective resources to assist best teacher practice. In the end, we worked towards wanting to produce and/or redesign a student learning experience that integrates technology effectively while addressing specific learning goals.
For this course, I decided to share my final project. Being in the height of COVID and online learning, I decided to get tech saavy and create a Bitmoji classroom resource. With this, my intention was to create a readers and writers workshop that was accessible both in the classroom as well as through distance learning. It was a learning curve to have to pivot and turn everything I thought I knew into computer-proof, so creating this project allowed me to think outside the box to best reach my sixth graders in an era that none of us have every experienced.
