SUMMER 2021
EDGR 635 Applications in Assessment & Evaluation
This is a second round of assessments and evaluations where we pull from previous knowledge and apply our thinking and practices in a more methodical and intentional manner. With this class, we focused on building and applying work from our first level course to our current classrooms, school buildings, and educational systems. Our research went more in-depth to deepen our understandings in grading policies, standards-based instruction and assessment, use of formative assessment and feedback with a focus of moving our students' engagement and practice forward.
For this course, I have shared below my Start of Term Reflection Questions as well as my final piece for the course; a Writing Pre Assessment. I chose these two pieces because the Reflection allowed me to look inward on my practice and who I am as an educator and the Pre Assessment was an actual formative assessment I gave to students to gauge skill and future writing practices.
FALL 2019
EDGR 630 Dimensions in Assessment & Evaluation
Throughout this course, we examined and analyzed different strategies of assessment and evaluations. As a cohort, we examined these strategies together and were able to give constructive feedback. We recorded our day-to-day thoughts in a digital journal which allowed for consistent logging and feedback. As a second year teacher, this proved beneficial because it allowed me to gain different perspectives to several kinds of assessments and allowed me to take that practice and apply it to the upcoming school year. Through examining summative and formative assessment definitions, I was able to create my own summative assessment that I will use this fall. Below are the links of the daily logs, activities, and assessment I created during this time.
