Texture Design

Reflection: For my first design, I made a poster like a collab between Nickelodeon and Charli D’Amelio. I used an overlay slime texture on the word “Slimed!” so it actually looks wet and gooey instead of just green text. I also added drips coming off the letters to make it feel like the slime is actually falling, not just sitting there. The bright green slime with the blue and orange background matches the Nickelodeon vibe and makes it look fun and energetic. I included the phrase “you just got slimed!” to make it feel like a real moment or event instead of just text.

Reflection: For my second design, I made it like a book cover with the phrase “Sucked into the Void.” I used a grain texture over the text and background to give it a rough, kind of creepy feeling. The word “VOID” is breaking apart and getting pulled into the center like a black hole, so it actually looks like it’s being sucked in. I wanted it to feel darker and more serious compared to my slime design. The grain texture helps make it look more chaotic and like everything is fading or disappearing.

Reflection:  For my third design, I tried warping the word “BAMBOO” into the shape of an actual bamboo plant. I stacked and stretched the letters to look like the bamboo stalk. Then I added a panda and a little ghost because of the “boo” at the end of bamboo, so it’s kind of like a visual pun. This one was harder for me, and the drawing style is more simple, kind of like a kid’s drawing, but I did that on purpose to make it feel more playful and a little meme-like. It shows how text can turn into an object but still be readable.
