This whole site is written for general UK higher education use.
Your university, faculty, department, course or placement provider may have stricter or different rules about GenAI.
When that happens, their rules win.
Check your institution’s AI statement
Look for: “Use of Generative AI”, “Artificial Intelligence in Assessment”, “Academic Integrity and AI”.
Copy the exact wording into your module guide / VLE / assignment if it exists.
Link to this site as “additional guidance”, not the other way round.
If the institutional statement changes, update only this page and the AI Use Statements page. Don’t rewrite everything.
Read the AI guidance in your module handbook / VLE first.
If it says “no AI”, follow that, even if this site shows you how to use AI.
If it allows AI, you can use the templates and workflows on this site.
If it’s not clear, ask your tutor.
Some Schools allow AI for planning/drafting, others don’t
Some programmes (health, education, social work) are stricter because of placements
Some universities provide an approved AI and ask you to use only that
Some assessment boards want AI use shown (process pack), others just want a line of acknowledgement
This site can’t predict all of those, so we defer to yours.
