The Hallam EEDI Framework 2024-27 guides our work to make Sheffield Hallam the most inclusive university it can be. It sets out our goals and actions to promote equality and inclusion for students, staff, and the wider community. We also share regular reports to show our progress and keep our work transparent.

The Athena SWAN Charter celebrates our commitment to advancing gender equality across all areas of the University. It promotes equality for everyone across all disciplines.

Sheffield Hallam is proud to hold a University-wide Bronze Award, plus one Silver and one Bronze departmental award for our ongoing work towards gender equality.

🌈 Careers Service: Specialised support to help LGBTQ+ students/ apprentices navigate job applications and workplace dynamics confidently.

🌈Report and Support: Hallam offer A confidential service allowing students/ apprentices to report incidents of harassment or discrimination, with access to specialist support staff.

🌈Community Engagement: Active participation in local events like Sheffield Pride and Pinknic, promoting visibility and allyship.

Sheffield Hallam University is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where all apprentices can thrive. The university recognises that aspects of university life can be more challenging for individuals identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, non-binary, or other identities under the LGBTQI+ umbrella.

To support students and apprentices, Hallam provides:

🌈 LGBTQ+ Society - Student/ apprentice run group support that offers a safe and inclusive space. It gives students/ apprentices chance to connect, socialise and just be themselves.

🌈 1:1 Support - Dedicated LGBTQ+ advisers are available to assist with academic, personal, and wellbeing concerns whenever you may need them.
