University Preparation

1. Pre-enrol online

If you haven't already pre-enrolled, look out for an email about 3 weeks before you arrive, which will tell you what to do. If you don’t receive an email, contact webenrolhelp@shu.ac.uk. You’ll need to print out your pre-enrolment summary and bring it with you.

2. Get your health checks and vaccinations

If you're moving to Sheffield, we recommend that you register with our medical centre. If you're staying at home you can choose to either register with us or stay with your own GP surgery.

To register, complete the medical form found in the Insider's Guide, then attend the medical centre during enrolment to find out what to do in an emergency and where to go if you feel unwell on campus.

Book an appointment at your doctor to have your two MMRs and MenACWY vaccines. You can also get your vaccinations at the medical centre when you arrive.

3. If you're moving into halls, complete the SHUstart programme

Staying in University accommodation? Log on to SHUstart to find everything you need to know about moving in. You'll receive more information about SHUstart before you arrive.

4. Put some money on your SHUcard

When you get here you’ll be given your SHUcard at your enrolment. You can use it pay for things around campus. Load money onto it before you get here, and your family can top it up for you too. We'll send you an email with more details telling you what to do.
