In your first week at university, there are several things that you should do. Also, there are some advisable things to do to make your university life easier.
If you're moving into halls, make sure you arrive in your allocated timeslot and bring your halls of residence key release form.

Induction for the MSc Dietetics course will commence on Monday 9th January 2023. The induction week is shared with other students embarking on health studies. At SHU we have an integrated care curriculum, with shared modules, teaching and learning throughout the two years of study. In the first week expect to work alongside your fellow dietetic students as well as those from physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing (child, adult and mental health), art therapy and social work.
Enrolment is where you formally register as a Sheffield Hallam student. We will tell you when and where to enrol at your course induction.
Your SHUcard is your student ID. You can also use it to pay for goods and services across the University. We'll tell you where to collect it at your enrolment.
If you’ve applied for a Sheffield Hallam Active membership, visit their City or Collegiate Campus reception to activate your SHUcard and access the facilities. Or sign up today online.
Go to the medical centre to register, find out what to do in an emergency and what to do if you feel unwell on campus. You can also get your two MMRs and MenACWY vaccines if you haven't already had them.
The medical centre is located in room 5110, Surrey Building, City Campus.
As well as including students with physical, visual or hearing impairment, you may be classed as a disabled student if you have a long-term medical condition, dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD, an autism spectrum condition or mental health difficulties.
