This year, Ramadan begins at sunset on February 28 and ends at sunset on March 30, 2025
Sunrise will range from 6:29am to 5:27am through the month.
This year, for most Sunni Muslims, sunset during Ramadan in the Maryville will range from 6:30pm p.m. at the beginning of month, to 7:25 p.m. at the end of month. Shia Muslims generally observe their break of the fast about 10-15 minutes after the given sunset times.
Students seeking religious accommodations for their observation of the holidays should contact their professors as soon as possible.
Students are responsible to make up their work and be prepared for the next session.
If students encounter any difficulties in completing work for their classes, they should contact their Academic Advisor or the Center for Global Engagement for support and guidance.
For specific inquiries about Ramadan and religious accommodations, email international@maryvillecollege.edu or the Center for Campus Ministry

Here is some brief information on what you need to know about campus dining at Maryville College.
Metz is committed to providing vegetarian options for students. This looks like 1 hot vegetarian entree on the hot line, and vegetable-based sides.
Metz is unable to provide Halal foods. We do not have the capacity in the kitchen to cook Halal foods. Metz does purchase chicken that has been produced as Halal, but specifically can not meet these specifications of Halal foods:
Preparation, processing, and storage:
Halal food must be prepared, processed, packaged, transported, and stored in a way that complies with Islamic law (shariah). This includes using equipment that is not contaminated with things that are najs. [We can not do this at Maryville College]
Metz is able to order frozen Halal burritos for you to get from the C-Store. They can arrange for this to be part of your swipes, but they need to know to order them. you can talk with James Dulin directly about this.
