Counseling Center

Maryville College wants every student to be successful in their journey to get their degree.  As part of that path, students may feel they need additional support to deal with issues that may occur in their lives.  The Counseling Center is dedicated in providing counseling services for students who need additional guidance in dealing with life transitions while attending college.  Our goal is to provide you with a safe environment to discuss any difficulties and concerns you may have during this time.  In addition to therapy and psychoeducation, our staff is available in crisis situations when needed.  All services are confidential and free to students.  Counseling services are provided by a licensed professional or a graduate student in training who is carefully supervised by a licensed clinical supervisor.

International Student Health Insurance Policy

If you are a Maryville College student, you will be required to carry medical health insurance for the full duration of your program, including summers. Maryville College provides students and dependents with mandatory health insurance. Please pay attention to the following rules to determine what applies to you:

Cost & Coverage Dates (2024-25)

Fall: August 11. 2024 – January 7, 2025 $350 (new student rate)

Spring: January 4, 2024 – August 10, 2025 $500

***note: students who are 25 – 49 are subject to higher insurance prices.

We will enroll all J-1 (as per conditions above) and all F-1 students in this policy AUTOMATICALLY. You will pay for it upon arrival, and it will be valid from the dates above.  You can ACCESS YOUR STUDENT ZONE HERE

All students should, however, consider one’s own health condition, talk with one’s physician, and ensure that one has adequate coverage to meet one’s personal needs that may not be met by the Maryville College Health Insurance.  **this is very important for students who may have pre-existing health issues, chronic illnesses, or want preventative care in the USA.
