Miss Poole is currently teaching our P1/2 class, while Miss Lees is absent.

Our P2/3 classroom is a large, bright and spacious room, perfect for first level learning and engaging in a wide variety of exploration and investigation.

This year we have a large number of P4 pupils which meant that the cohort was split into a straight P4 class and a P4/5. Where possible opportunities for pupils to work with their peers are planned.
This class is part of the CYPIC programme this year, a national programme to support writing development.
Miss Barnes teaches in P4/5 all week.

Part of our upper stages year groups, the P6 pupils this year has taken on the extra responsibility of organising and running lunchtime clubs for all age groups.
Mrs Frew teaches in P7 all week.
Mrs Frew is also a Deputy Child Protection Officer for the school and our link member of staff supporting military families.
P7 pupils take part in a range of transition events throughout the year in preparation for moving up to secondary education at the end of the year.
Mrs Wickert is also our PE teacher on a Tuesday. Mrs Wickert supports most classes during one of their PE sessions each week. All classes have two PE sessions a week.
All teachers in Scotland are entitled to non-contact time, for planning, assessment and preparing resources to support learning. Teachers are given 30mins per teaching day of non-contact time. At Mortlach this is given in blocks of time to our P1/2, P4/5 and P7 Teachers. On the days when our Class Teachers are on non-contact time, Mrs Horner teaches the class.
Currently Mrs Horner is on maternity leave. Her post is currently being covered by supply teachers.
Mrs Shepherd is our ASN Teacher on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Mrs Shepherd supports the development of a wide range of educational support plans including Learning Profile and Support Strategies (LPS), Individualised Educational Plans (IEP) and Dyslexia Pathways. As well as overseeing the support needs of all pupils at Mortlach Primary.
Mrs Shepherd works closely with our support team to ensure that they are aware of pupils support needs and provides training to staff where needed. She supports the team to ran a variety of different groups including nurture groups, fine and gross motor skills and Seasons for Growth.
Mrs Shepherd also works closely with Mrs O'Neill on planning and preparing learning experiences for pupils who are accessing the 'Thistle Work' Room.
