'I would like to start by thanking everyone for coming this evening. I appreciate everyone giving up their time, and I know it’s not easy getting a date and time that always suits everyone.
It’s hard to know where to begin with everything that we have managed to achieve over the course of the last 12 months.
We have held several fundraisers this year, which have all been a great success. From our coffee morning that was incredible busy, school discos so the children can have some fun, as well as providing the kids with a X-mas present, a spooky drive and a bunny drive, to give the whole school community some fun, and our spring raffle, that was incredibly well supported. Without everyone helping out and being so supportive we would not have managed to raise the funds that we have this year. For that I would like to express my thanks to each and everyone one of our Parent Council members, as well as the staff at Mortlach who are always so supportive.
We were able to gain some local donations from various business around the local area which we have been able to use to support the children. A big thank you to Glenfiddich and The Cabrach Community Association, as with their donations we were able to purchase several e-reader pens for the school to use and I am sure all the teachers are finding these a benefit having at least one based in their class.
When the snow came in early November we had realised that our Janitor was having to hand shovel the snow to try and keep the paths clear and safe for the school community. With this we purchased a snow blower to make it easier for him. Thank you goes to Annie and her husband for the kind donation towards it as well as collecting it for the school.
A thank you to Glenrinnes Community Associated, Dufftown Highland Games and Newsome Chimney sweep for their donations as well.
The wider community as always have been a great support to the school and this showed in everyone efforts to support our drive for the pounds for Primary’s scheme, as well as the cash pot builder with Asda. We are so very lucky to have such a supportive community here in Dufftown.
Finally, I would like to thank everyone for all their help this year. Without everyone bringing their own unique skills we wouldn’t have been able to achieve everything we have this year. So from me I would like to express my appreciation to each and everyone one of you. Here is hoping this year is as successful again.
As always anything is possible at Mortlach.'
