Hello, I would like to introduce myself as the Iddings Elementary School Nurse. My name is Samirra Patterson RN, BSN; however, your child may know me better as Nurse Myra.

I'm originally from Chicago, Illinois. I've spent most of my younger adult years in St. Louis, MO. I attended Goldfarb School of Nursing where I obtained my bachelor's of science in nursing. I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling and trying new foods in different regions of the world.

During the pandemic, I moved to Portage, Indiana in August of 2020 to be closer to my family. I have two children: a 10 year old son (Dra'Von) and a 13 year old daughter (Dazirah). I have a variety of nursing experience in areas such as: labor and delivery, medical-surgical, geriatrics and acute rehab.

This is my second year here at Iddings Elementary, and it has been a true blessing being your child's school nurse throughout the school year. They're such a joy to be around and most certainly brightens up my day with their smiles.

Nursing is my true divine calling and I believe we are all placed on this earth to fulfill our purpose. I am here to be an advocate for their personal concerns and a listening ear for some who may just want to talk and express how/what they feel. Some parents may have met me already.
