Opportunities for Community Members

The Miscoe Hill Inspired Innovation Center (IIC) is a space dedicated to increasing opportunities for students to engage in hands-on, maker-oriented education as part of their school experience. The IIC opened this fall as part of a three-year grant from American Student Assistance. Currently, students and faculty have access to workbench stations, whiteboard walls, 3D printing tools, simple robotics, and digital cutting tools. In the long term, the growth and success of the IIC will be bolstered by your participation. Here are several pathways for families to get involved.

Inspired Innovation Center Advisory Board & Partner Database

We are seeking volunteers to help support the work of the IIC by lending their insight to support our planning or their skills to help us develop new learning experiences. The Advisory Board is a group that will meet twice annually to provide input on programming and purchasing. The Partner Database will serve as a resource for the IIC to identify parents who have particular knowledge or skills for future IIC-related learning experiences. Adding your name to the database is not interpreted as a commitment to volunteering. If you are interested in participating in either opportunity, please click the link below.

Miscoe Match Program

In an effort to stretch the funding provided by ASA, we have launched the Miscoe Match Program that asks for donations of gently used or new hand tools, electrical tools, or simple machinery (i.e. sewing machines). We will also accept donations of consumables (wood, fasteners, glue, etc.), storage (shelving, tool racks, storage containers, etc.). A comprehensive list of needs can be found below Please contact David Quinn if you are interested in contributing.
