Welcome to the campfire. This page will serve as a creative blog, offering anecdotes, poetry, short stories, and journal entries about my experiences balancing work and life as a teacher in the 21st century! I also invite you to share some of your own work with me.
Please fill out the following form and I'd be happy to post some of your anecdotes or creative work.
Then and Now
by Benedetto Youssef
The mountain is high we seek to climb.
Insurmountable, some may say.
Dare we instill the minds of those who sit,
upon thrones of electronic lies?
Dante, Cervantes, even Shakespeare—
are fleeting things to the modern pupil,
tossed carelessly to the wind,
like the petals of flowers to the spirited youth,
like hopes of eager pedagogues, fighting still.

And what of tomorrow?
Should it all be torn asunder?
Are there truths in the lies of silicon?
Remember this: even the mighty bear tolerates the bee's sting.
Surely, tomorrow's honey will be built upon the electronic buzzing of today.
