SalOkra Laboratory

The RSRC Natural Product Development Laboratory (Saluyot–Okla Laboratory) is dedicated to natural product research and the development of products formulated with organic and natural ingredients. It supports the extraction, processing, and evaluation of bioactive compounds from plants and other natural sources, with applications in food, health, and related sectors. Through research-driven product development and laboratory-based validation, the laboratory promotes innovation and the sustainable use of natural resources.

Objectives

To serve as a center of excellence in natural product research and development, supporting the discovery, characterization, and utilization of bioactive compounds from plant, microbial, and other natural sources relevant to regional and national priorities.
To provide accessible and high-quality laboratory services and methodologies for natural product research, enabling students, faculty, and researchers to conduct extraction, processing, and preliminary evaluation of natural materials for academic, research, and innovation-driven purposes.
To strengthen research capacity and multidisciplinary collaboration through training and laboratory immersion, promoting skills development, innovation, and translational research that contribute to sustainable resource use and socio-economic development.

Laboratory Services Offered

Cosmetic Product Development

The Cosmetic Product Development service supports the formulation and preliminary development of cosmetic products using natural and organic ingredients. This service includes the preparation, optimization, and basic evaluation of cosmetic formulations for research, academic, and innovation purposes. It provides a platform for product-based research and skills development while promoting the responsible use of natural resources.
